Deciding whether or not to drink a soda can come with a lot of thoughts. Wellness baggage. Ingredient guilt. Social judgment. We wanted to address the analysis paralysis that comes with cracking open a can of soda. And prove that, at just 5g of sugar, poppi is the smarter, more delicious solution.
We worked alongside creative agency Virtue and iconic music video director Dave Meyers to develop and execute a Super Bowl concept that presented soda drinkers something with a radical gift: permission to stop overthinking it.
The result was Soda Thoughts, a campaign built around the everyday mental spiral we’ve all experienced. Each spot drops into a familiar mid-crisis. Until poppi shows up.
We debuted the full :60 during the biggest soda moment of the year—the Super Bowl. And it was a hit. Soda Thoughts became the Most Impactful Ad of the game, with the highest lift in Buzz, Ad Awareness, and Consideration according to YouGov.

But the fun didn’t stop there—after the debut of our Super Bowl spot, we aired each of the six \ vignettes as individual :30s throughout the year, targeting a variety of different soda drinkers during prime soda drinking occasions.
Viewers loved seeing their favorite creators make cameos in our spots. With the help of Alix Earle, Jake Shane, Rob Rausch, and our very own Allison Ellsworth, of course, we created a campaign that gave soda lovers permission to enjoy all of the flavor with none of the baggage.
